Literacy lesson 1
In our first literacy lesson this week, we will be rewriting the story of The Gruffalo’s Child. We will begin the writing lesson with some handwriting practise.  Please revisit this story by visiting the link below.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuQm8Qb64EI


Literacy lesson 2 
In our second recorded lesson, we will be describing a setting.  We will look at a picture of a beautiful beach and describe it using adjectives.  We will  be using our senses (see, hear, smell, touch and feel) to help us.  

 


History lesson 2
This we week we continue our topic of toys by learning about toys from the recent past. Your task is to compare a Nintendo games console from the 1990s to a Nintendo Switch in the present. 



Year 1 maths week 2
This maths focuses on subtraction using a 100 square.  We will learn how to use a 100 square to solve subtraction number sentences.  We will also recap our number bonds to 10.


Year 1 Science lesson 2
We continue our learning with materials and their properties. This week we will be revisiting the story of the three little pigs and taking part in an experiment to see which house is the strongest and why.



Year 1 PSHE lesson 2
We continue our topic of keeping safe by learning about the hazards you might find at home. We will learn to identify key hazards and how we can prevent danger.
 

Year 1 Thursday Maths
This maths lesson focusses on subtraction word problems using a hundred square.  Think carefully about what the question is asking you to do. 


Year 1 RE lesson 2
In RE this week we are learning about the story of Rama and Sita.  Your task is to draw a picture of either Rama or Sita and write sentences to describe what happens in the story.



Year 1 Art lesson 2
We continue to learn about the artist Piet Mondrian and will be creating our own pieces of artwork inspired by him. Today we will be using block colour and learning how to stay within a boundary.
 

Year 1 Geography lesson 2
We continue to learn about our school environment. This week we will be thinking about the key features of our school and the activities we can do in each area.
